Employees and past employees in Accenture can you all share if it’s true that Accenture retrenches analysts every year? Is that why they mass hire yearly too? Heard about this but not sure if it’s true as everyone have been saying how employees automatically choose to leave the firm

Nope, have not heard of any retrenchment. Many analysts quit because they find better opportunities outside.

Yup, I definitely have done a few OTs during PHs before. You should definitely note it down, communicate with your manager and ask for OIL though. Don't just llst and do OTs due to bad planning on the management side. Once the deadline/busy period is over just claim the OIL lol.

IIRC the nearest retrenchment done was during 2020 due to covid, right? Other than that, ACN rarely does retrenchment. Why would they do retrenchment when they can just throw you under PIP and sack you due to performance without needing to pay you retrenchment package lol.
ACN mass hire regularly because
1. ACN SG is still growing, there's a lot of proj but not enough people.
2. Quite a number leave every year... because ACN WLB+Total rewards sucks. You will just be disappointed at your promotion news and/or bonus/salary hike at the EOY everytime.

Performance Improvement Plan. Not common, chances are if you get put in it, you're pretty much identified as underperforming... and really, to even hit PIP, it just shows you have no idea on how to manage your career.
Since the least you could have is get a sensing of your performance during talent discussion period and work tgt with your PL/Manager in sourcing a suitable role for you...
