Unless UOB's MA is known to be neogtiable, or that your friends have prior working exp or a relevant Masters, the joke's on you.

Otherwise if you were indeed successful in your nego for a higher salary, then I hope the entire batch of MAs going in finds out and ask for their equal share.

Maybe you should have just made it into a foreign bank instead so that you don't have to nego in the first place yeah? Even SC or Barclays pays better than 4K. 🙃

Reply here said "MA progs" meaning a generalisation of all MA progS, which is untrue since there have been successful negotiations at other MA progs. Just debunking misconceptions so that everyone can know their own bargaining power and companies can't lowball everyone - don't need to get all defensive.

FYI receiving an offer doesn't mean accepting it. Good luck on your ardous job search.

So your friend is the bugger that held up the offer process cos he wanted to stonewall for a couple hundred more bucks! Name and shame the bugger so the other UOB MA wannabes can give him a good walloping!

I'm not the same poster as the one whose friend asked for 5.2k lol. I was responding to another reply that generalised all MA progs as non-negotiable and simply shared that it's not true according to what I've heard from friends who received MA offers from other (foreign) banks. Hope those who learn about this manage to negotiate to get what they're worth.

This is my last reply since most people don't seem to appreciate it.

Still waiting but just want to have a feel besides group wholesale banking, which department also handed out the offers
