He didn't hack anything he just used his admin password which incredibly means that they didn't change it after firing him!

This company run by a bunch of clowns, I hope no gov contracts under them.

Not likely, I didn’t hear any major outage last year because of hundred VM down.

Agreed, bad exit process, no annual review of the access right, no regular password change process.
What's their audit doing ?

Your first day in the tech scene in SG? NCS' status as the village idiot in the tech industry here is well known.

Default YOE puzzle

I am puzzled by years of experience (yoe) in tech industry. I saw many jobs with a minimum yoe requirement while some tech stack only become mainstream within the past few years. In my own experience, a person who claim to have 10-15 years of engineering experience perform worse than a more junior engineer with 5 yoe even though both have worked on the same project for the same period of time. What matters is experience but not years. A person who does the same work for 5 years is effectively having just 1 yoe. While another person who takes the initiatives to solve different problems, cross-function and covering different roles at different levels effectively gain much more experience. I think as an organisation, we should encourage and incentivise people to become the latter.
