What is the difference between probation and contract ? Is the probation of 3 months period subsumed under a 2 year contract ?

First year MI at your 1st year anniversary.. 2nd year onwards is April/June depending you in Ministry or Statboard, no more prorated then..

Contract/Perm, you will still have to go through Probation.. Contract itself means you are under contract with this ministry/statboard for x number of years, and depending on the review, to either perm you or re-contract you for x number of years.. Lastly, yes... all inclusive..

Thanks for explaining . Is it normal for Min/SB to have probation? less advantage to the employee right? I notice most Min/SB give contract directly.

Should one tender letter first without signing the Offer Letter with the receiving agency? The other agency has verbally offered me and told me to proceed to inform my company my last day, while they prepare the Offer Letter. I don't feel secure.

like I have mentioned, dont matter whether contract/perm, you will have probation one.. just like in private sector.. your x years contract will still have probation built in.. hope this clarifies.. =)
