You guy simply don't seem to understand. We in the bank try to find the best candidate for the opening - even if it takes upto 6 months. Why don't you realise the damage that will come from the wrong candidate - we will have to give him/her the chance to improve, warning1, warning2, sack, find the new candidate, and so on. Do it right the first time.

Every employee is an ambassador of the bank. If the ambassadors get the job easily, they will get careless and the bank will suffer. Hence make the guys sweat - that is our motto. And if we don't find the right guy here, we can surely find one in India/Philippines/PRC.

Please spare us this PR sales talk. Some very senior guys might be "ambassadors" for the bank, but every employee including low levels like VP AVP & below are also ambassadors? Smells like 101% BS.

Like that Tony Tan might as well declare all Singaporeans as ambassadors at large and we can all claim diplomatic immunity when holiday overseas.

Your post reminds me why so many people dislike HR department. Simple things like recruitment, leave administration, payroll cannot do properly, but always talk nonsense like "all employees are our greatest asset" or "we develop our talent holistically" or "long term strategic busines partnering" and your latest "every employee is an ambassador of the bank"

Really shameless and unprofessional.

Guys, this is going out of control. Why blame HR when the hiring manager cannot make up her mind or budget. HR can line up candidates but if the hiring manager insists on 8 rounds of interview, what can HR do? If the hiring manager does not have the budget but wants to speak to guys hoping that she will get the budget by next 4 months, who is to blame? HR or hiring manager?

HR should reign in or advise the hiring manager that the way hes going about the recruitment process is wrong

if no budget, dun put out job ads and conduct ghost interviews wastign potential jobseekers time

If hiring manager still wants to intw ppl, tell him no unless headcount is approved

6 months can do so much things rather than spending so much time in sourcing for just one candidate in one position. No point need so many rounds of interview. I believe management associate program only max 6 rounds if not wrong. Same applies to govt ministries and other mncs.

Max 6 rounds for management associate...

Is this a joke?

My boyfriend proposed to me on the 4th date and we have now been happily married for 10 years now - 2 kids already.

I think 1-2 rounds are more than enough. CVs have been shortlisted already, background checks will follow.

Not bad. It is proven that your husband is the best employer, far-sighted and look into the qualities of his wife. This result is the happy marriage. No need waste time for years of courtship. And also, you have proven to be the best candidate who is able to prove your husband that the match is best fit.

Back to the corporate recruitment, no point carry out 12 rounds? give the candidate some time to prove.
