How muchy can a teacher with 10 YOE earn? Not HoD or subject head just normal form teacher kind

A 10 YOE teacher at GEO4, good performer (consistent C grader) would probably draw in the ballpark of 90-100k gross including bonuses, for the year. Above average performers and/or those at GEO5 would draw more than that.

Usually expectations or lines should be clearly set via PG at the start of the year. So that the parents are aware on, what they can contact you for, and what help/advice/guidance can they get from you. Since you have chosen to give your personal number to parents (kudos on you since it is not mandatory). I believe the parents are appreciative of the direct communication line that you have established.

Unfortunately, if you have not drawn the lines at the start of the year, any responses now to draw the line may feel a bit reactive.

For pri sch, a good way is to throw the question back to the parent. E.g. "How can we help/support your child so that they can be more responsible in school?" Usually the parents will self-reflect and realise that they themselves have to guide them better at home first.

I think for sec sch, can just state the stance that you adopt in class (e.g. we encourage our students to grow and develop in their personal responsibility, hence he can try to look for the lost bottle himself the next day, and search the lost & found areas.

Slowly but surely, once the parents realises that you have shifted the responsibility back to them/the child, and that the ball is actually not in your court, I believe such minute things will not be within their scope of queries for you. But it will take time, since I think you have already helped to solve a few of these things before, so it might have already become an automated process for them to just direct these small matters to you.

For the assessment book one, similarly, just direct it back to them also. e.g. "perhaps you can try e-mailing the bookstore, or google search if any other retailers has them". If you have been the one 'finding' the solution for them, rather than directing them to find the solution, then you have to start directing them now.

If you're talking about a typical BA/BSc/PGDE starter from GEO2 (salary around 3+k gross), then usually at 10 YOE, average should be drawing GEO4 salary, or near GEO4 ceiling (really depending on when you get promoted to GEO3, and to GEO4), since even with your criteria (normal form teacher), there will also be a wide spectrum.

But a good estimate will be around 6+k to 7k gross monthly, with all the bonuses, should be near 100k like what the other poster has mentioned.

Good performers should reach this 6+k in their 7th year or so. And by 10th year, depending on whether they have positions, they should at least reach GEO5 and probably even near the ceiling.

the spectrum has been widened further, especially for batches promoted during covid period 2020-2022, where all increments were reduced

this probably helps them to stop people from hitting the ceiling too early ?

Yes this is true. Unfortunately I don't have enough data on hand to predict the possible pay factoring in this group of people. So my data is still based on what I have seen in previous batches of 10YOE teachers.

it’s all abt SLs. some SLs ( few) are very good and go all the way out to tell parents at every opportunity abt the expectations . n reassure staff they don’t hv to bend backwards.
then u have the scumbags SLs who are not fit to be leaders in the first place for not having abt ounce of moral fibre or courage , who don’t see their role as helping their staff.

GEO4 here. Only hit 6k after 8YOE. Promoted during covid. Promotion and merit increments were cut during those years, and also missed out on the 10% pay raise for GEO3. Nowhere near the ceiling.

I see. Thanks for the sharing. This will still put you within the estimate of 6+k to 7k at 10YOE. Since you're already at 6k with 8YOE. Just that yea unfortunately, you're not at the higher end of the spectrum due to the various circumstances.
