Not all about SLs la. Teachers also need to assume responsibility. Need to know how to handle parents.
Sure SLs play a role of course. But teachers cannot just all push the blame if they themselves fail to handle properly. Same for SLs, if teachers fail to handle, they also can't just blame teachers. Must ask themselves if they got set a proper direction. These kind of things, takes a village one. No one person can just be solely responsible.

I have a colleague. Also GEO4. Promoted in 2021. But good performer. No KP roles yet. But 7YOE is 6.4k now. So by 10 YOE is either GEO5 or near GEO4 ceiling. So pretty good estimate by the primary teacher I will say. Even for the COVID promotees

I believe there was a pay adjustment for the other officers who missed out on this 'GEO3 Pay Raise'. You can check your Aug 2022 to Oct 2022 salary. There should have been an adjustment starting from Oct 2022 pay.
Whether you want to call it adjustment for the promo/merit increments, or for the GEO3 'pay raise', from my understanding, there was an adjustment made.

Everyone got an adjustment...the point the previous poster was making is that the adjustment for GEO3s was nearly twice the % compared to GEO4 and 5.
Those who got promoted from 3 to 4 just before the adjustment...damn unlucky.

I'm one of those affected by "the various circumstances" - Graduated with Dip Ed in General Education way back in 2008. Had a chance to 'upgrade' and got a degree after slogging in a pri school for 6 years. It's my 16th year in service. Discount the 2 years in NIE for my upgrade to degree, I have been serving for 14 years. 14 years and I've only hit 6k this April (due to M.I). It can be demoralising and there are friends who have left for greener pastures asking me why I still stay on when I can get much more doing tuition. The reason is simple - I enjoy the kids I teach and appreciate the colleagues who have turned comrades in this very tough and unforgiving industry. As for working with parents, yes, they can be demanding but I'd rather concerned parents than those who are totally uninvolved. The latter makes our job tougher. At the end of the day, most are appreciative and it makes the hard and heart work all worthwhile. The unappreciative ones, a small bulk would be here thrashing teachers through anonymous postings I believe

Still within the 6k to 7+k estimate that was mentioned above leh. If you average performer why must be at the ceiling?
The example of 6.4k one most probably will reach the ceiling.
Your one means u just not progressing as fast as the rest lor

My batchmate and I promoted to GEO4 in 2021. He went to call HR about this in 2023 after he saw this discussion here. They replied that this is already factored into the adjustment. Our adjustment as GEO4 was higher than a current GEO3 adjustment.

Got smoked by HR is it?
The raise was in percentage terms, not in nominal terms leh
How is 5% higher than a 10% adjustment?
Please show the math
