I would say that the interview was abit … demoralising because it was only between 30 – 40 minutes. But I still hope. The interviewers have told me point-blank that I know a lot about what they do, and they foresee that I would be a great fit to their team. However, they were concerned about my job history because my previous 2 jobs were 1-2 years. They told me that they would need to be assured that if I were to be selected, that I would stay for the long term. I honestly believe that I would, because getting into MCCY has been a dream of mine since graduation. One of the HR reps in the panel also kinda gave me a stree-test by asking me if I had considered applying for other engagement roles in other public agencies, to which I had replied no. I mean it’s the truth, since I am not that desperate for a job to be firing my application everywhere.
They informed me that there would be a final round of interview, and that they are still interviewing other candidates. HR would then collate the list of shortlisted candidates for the final round of interview and should “contact me within 2 weeks”. Honestly, the 2-weeks thing that HR usually say – its non-committal la.
After the interview, I rarely do this but I sent each and every one of the interviewers a thank-you note.

Now here is the thing, based on my experiences (I have been in the public sector long enough), if the first round interview panellists are interested in you, they would have surfaced the eligible candidates as soon as possible. Usually, I would have received the call for the second interview by the next day or even on the same day (as with MCI REACH and MOM). Hence, it is really worrying.
Thus, I would like to seek your views on:
1. If you have applied/interviewed for MCCY recently, how was your experience?
2. For people in CS/PS in general, how long did HR take to notify you of the invitation for second interview, from the first interview?
Thanks

Can't answer your questions but just to share my own experience. Had a one year contract job in private. When I went for the interview for a CS position the interviewer kept asking me "Why did you leave after a year?" Bruh it was a contract job it's not that deep. He was super fixated on that one year even though I worked 3 years at another company. Didn't ask about what I did or how it would help in the role but just kept focusing on why one year.
Govt agencies love to use contract jobs also so don't know why he just couldn't get it.
Needless to say, I turned down that offer and accepted another.

If stat board ask for your current pay slip but have not confirm you are selected for the position, how high is the chance to be confirm/selected for the role?

Completed 2nd interview. After a few days, requested for my payslip. I thought I was selected so they asked for the payslip. Went to check with them few days later on the status then was informed that I am still being considered for the position. Any idea if the percentage of success rate is high?

unless u is kena those unsecured loans/debts/financial embarrassment etc
but then again no harm explaining to the panel to clear the air up if they were to ask

Roles that are more sensitive or need high security clearance will take longer also.
Salute u for going for 50 cs/sb interviews - but all 50 kena rejected?

Since when did public service allow for salary negotiations? Thought the standard is to assume merit increment from average performance for X years of experience.

Hi,
The following are the application timeline I went through last year:
Statboard A
Late Dec (2021): Submitted Application
2nd Week Jan: Received Interview notice, scheduled for the last week of Jan (3 weeks later)
5th Week Jan: Interview, single round
3rd Week Feb: Received provisional offer (subjected to medical and clearance)
Statboard B (my preferred one)
2nd Week Jan: Submitted Application
3rd Week Jan: Requested for pay slips
1st Week of Feb: Received Interview notice, scheduled for 3rd Week of Feb (which took place 1 day after I received provisional offer from statboard A, coincidentally)
3rd Week Feb: Interview (morning), single round (mentioned that I have pending offer from Statboard A). The HR called me in the afternoon asking for me to hold offer from Statboard A first.
Received provisional offer 3 days later
Medical and clearance took about 2 months. Started work in June.
I was a mid careerist then.

Did statboard A request for payslip? And also, looks like getting payslip before interview is normal?
