That's why associates are resigning so that they wouldn't feel being blamed eating to the profit margin of audit firms.

that’s also why you have referees when you apply? if you can get 2 people it shows that you are at least a decent human being. your comment is the ultimate reflection of the critical thinking abilities in auditors nowadays.

Character References is not the only method to test for character
Volunteer work, CCA leadership roles , appointment in external relevant organisations & NS rank

Sorry to add on, minimum must be NS Rank Lieutenant to be successful in audit or to be a CFO
This will reflect exemplary leadership ability and character quality

yes and all this will be in your resume, i dont see why a job ad will specifically emphasize on all that when the onus is on you to present it to them. you can be a good hearted soul but if you dont have the skills for it then they cant hire you eitherway, then you have to find another way to obtain the skills isnt it.

Knowing the associates are obtaining a similar pay to me while I work way more is quite demotivating also.
Does anyone have experience leaving the big 4 halfway taking the qualification, and did it go well ah?

Don't listen to all the bs. Quit and take continue taking outside. i left and completed my SCA and continue at another ATO. But my suggestion is to get your pay increment first, best case get another bump, worse case is match salary.
