the significant increment for fresh grad pay just a honey pot, lure the fresh grads in, and after 2 years these clueless little bees realise their peers who joined MA programs in MNCs/banks/GRCs earning much higher with better title
the accounting industry is going to shrink further with less manpower required in years to come... and it will be much harder to jump, to a reasonably good company in the near future, especially when you have 100+ auditors cookie-cutter resumes flooding the market

Except every market is flooded, this isn't anything new and people have been doing it for years.
The reality is this, if you truly want better job better pay etc, you would spend every hour working towards it instead of crying on some anonymous forum.

How many people left from your day? Not many juniors are joining this industry anymore. You can count on them for the quota and rely on the zai FT to help you with the work.

S3, 1/30+
M1, 5/40+
M2, 1/40+ LOL
M3, 0
anything below the S3s are all trash tier, last decent batch was 2019 intake.

truth. hating on malaysians gets you nowhere either, if they are as bad as they are, then you are equally bad for landing in the same occupation and unable to get out.

What a shame . Continue to do this kind of thing , will just make the big 4 brand name more garbage than it is right now and time to rebrand as a circus

already circus, HR is catching on, which is why so many people here find it so difficult to leave, because all they are, are overpaid clowns. And they can also see that local U grads are no longer going big4, the brain drain is real.

What is the market rate for someone in the accounting field with 3 years of experience?
The Big 4 firms pay around $5k. Is this overpaid? From what I know, someone with 2 years of big 4 experience can already get $5k in commercial.
These 3 years are full of overtime work and studying for exams. Why is there 0 value to it?
From the latest 2023 NTU GES survey, the median salary is still at the Big 4 starting pay, so many are still going to the Big 4.

becos NTU career office is not good as compared to SMU. ask ard those who studied in NTU whenever u approached career office for finding networking opportunities/ industry connections via alumni / vet your resume - they introduce u Big4 SM / par and edit your resume in a way that big 4 will like (ie any breathing organism who can OT)
joke... during my batch one of the top bank came over for an exclusive networking session, 50 ppl signed up and i think in the end all fly aeroplane. the bank super angry and the whole sch just left a big RED FLAG

Currently a newly promoted senior working in blue and taking the CA qualification.
Having a feeling to quit, but because of SCA it's kind of holding me back. I just left the capstone paper to take, but if I wait till December intake, I need to go through the next peak and honestly, I am dreading it. Knowing the associates are obtaining a similar pay to me while I work way more is quite demotivating also.
Does anyone have experience leaving the big 4 halfway taking the qualification, and did it go well ah?

Tbh, is it true that commercial don't want to hire ex-auditors to join FP&A or accounts given the manpower shortage? lol. If not, how come auditors still land jobs in reputable companies in such roles easily
