LMAO. Now the you realised? Audit is such a brainless process driven function. Equivalent to white collar sweatshop. There's no higher order thinking. Commoditized function. No wonder only immigrants from neighbouring poor countries think that it's the "job to be in". The prestige of this profession has dropped to rock bottom in the last 20 years

Pls, you can just go to the top JCs like Raffles and HCI and ask any random top scoring A Level student how many seriously wanna study accounting and join Big 4. They will laugh in your face. These guys are going to Harvard, MIT, Oxbridge, LSE on PSC scholarships or to study medicine law or PPE and hopefully land jobs in strat consulting or IB or FAANG. Some high level jobs requiring higher order thinking.

Audit is really a path for the third rate or fourth rate students and grads, same calibre as the jhks from tonkotsu ramen uni

Haha cannot like that say la, every profession deserves respect. In audit if u reach the more senior levels, will still do the more higher order thinking part like forecasting expected credit loss and accounting estimates etc. This kind requires more thinking and is beyond vouching.. too bad the people here mainly have the bad experience of just doing pure vouching without understanding like the intern... or have toxic colleagues.

Yes, the people there might not be that good now but it is still too harsh to label all of them as incompetent like that stupid intern who just everything copy paste. There are still nice people whom i know in the past who are still inside.

Nice one. That intern is too full of himself/herself, only know how to copy paste without understanding the concepts and still say until he knows his stuff lol. Provisions are such a simple and amateur topic in audit still want to cite frs/ssa.. jokes. This kind of thing in school also got learn, if still need everything to refer google or frs dunno study for what.

Now local uni produce such accountancy undergrads also quite worrying

Very simple. The pressure comes from the top. Partner pressurise manager and manager pressures the senior.. and then the senior pressurise the junior staff and intern. If too toxic, faster tender and zao

If they never flock in in the first place, you think our salary will be so low? if you pay random broken english 3:1 salary. Its like being in JP morgan salary to them. Must protect.

JHK expect sinkies to live as a foreigner in your home country, no family no friends only work work WORK.

That is why no locals wanna do.
