If 7k is gross monthly without including PB and AWS, that would put him in PAX4 equivalent. Ceiling is coming soon. nothing to complain as the annual package is about 120k for a pretty relax job compared to corporate.
those coming in with phd are most probably prc. just look at your director and you can see the link.

7k should put you in PAX4 already with senior academic staff title.

i m 40 n i make 9k/mth as a lecturer. i think its fair pay...though my peers in the industry is drawing 10 to 20% more

9k with bonus included? If not, you are in pax 3, at least a dept manager.

Though he is drawing 10-20% less than his friends working outside, the workload is definitely 50-70% less.
