pax 6 - fixed quantum and based on grade
pax 5 - percentage of salary and based on grade
pax 4 - percentage of salary and based on grade

anyone here heard of retrenchment in polytechnics? especially the non-acad staff?

Has any poly made announcement regarding the upcoming change: MSO merge into PAX scheme? Can you share what are the changes?

Fact: Primary, Secondary schools are merging. Reason? Smaller cohort.
Implication: these cohort will eventually stream to poly. Hence, excess headcount is not unusual.

Excess headcount translates to? 1st cut, do you cut the core or supporting function first? Those remain will need to double up the jobscope.

Heard about it. Not sure about the details. Only aware that they are going to pay based on skills and not based on academic qualifications.

Out of the 5 poly, only is still practicing contract based employment. So, this gives it a leeway to Not renew staff based on needs. Those poly that are on perm basis, they will most likely find ways to downsize the headcount through creative means.

What is the merit increment for PAX 6 and PAX 5 for C grade?

Hi, a friend of mine recently is promoted to PAS4 at a polytechnic. However, her designation remains as Lecturer, instead of Senior Lecturer. Is this normal?
