Got la. I’m from private u joined GS ops as graduate trainee in 2015
It is just much fewer. Of course I got in with first class honors with 2 internships in other bbs under my belt. No connections. Actually ops don’t need trophy resumes only those that can grind and slog it out in the long run. For the benefit of the rest who wished to step into this role, I shall share the organic salary progression. Analyst 50k pa. Senior Analyst 60k pa. Junior associate 75k pa. Senior associate 95k pa. Junior vp 120k pa. Good thing about GS is if you can perform, you can get promoted every year. On the flip side they axed the bottom 10% every year during March. No need to thank me. Is it worth it? You decide.

I personally know a few SIM grads in OCBC's young banker/grad talent programme. It's not even 5 percent of the intake, but these guys exist. They lucked out bigtime because not only do they get to join a grad talent programme in a bank, their pay is also the same as their local uni peers with the same class of honours as them and in the same programme.

You confirm lj la.
Alr know of one dude from UOL who joined JPM MO grad programme and is now a project manager + another incoming summer analyst from UOL this year (same BB & role - SA)
Also, there are private uni students in tier 2 strat firms and ACN strat & consulting (both FT and intern).
They are don’t form the majority of course, but they exist.

wont say that they lucked out big time.
Unlike ppl who get in through diversity (race/gender etc), these guys have to work really hard to amass a ton of relevant exp (professional and cca) and get absolutely outstanding grades to even get shortlisted.
they go through the same process as the rest for these programmes (cv, cover letter, stupid games, IQ tests, video interview, phone interview, assessment centers, superdays and what have you)

Bro ikr. Always ending his sentences with a emoji it's seriously annoying and spreading unwarranted negativity to everyone else. Idk if he wants to feel sorry for himself or he wants us to feel sorry for him from the way he words his posts.
