Compare civil service salary

That aside, its because I am a current NTU masters student, thats why I am able to get in.

I used my SIM-RMIT degree to apply during my undergrad days, but failed to get any offers from the public service.

I am just proof that from a poly student to SIM undergrad to NTU postgrad. If i can do it, so can the others. I dont see the point of boasting. I am not a scholar? Whats there to boast?

Besides, AM in a stat board is nothing big. Its just one level higher than senior exec.

To be honest, this way is much better than the usual path. Should advise ppl to do this. U can slack your entire first 20 years since rmit is honestly damn easy to get in. Make sure study hard enough to get distinction which is definitely easier than competing on the bell curve in the local uni.

Then after that do a 1 yr masters and U get fch pay? What can I say... Definitely sounds better than ending up with a 2nd lower/2nd upper after mugging your ass off against the bell curve.

ignore the trolls. there are some very bitter ppl lurking around here who are lowly educated and earning miserable wages. they r probably just green with envy that u r doing better in life then them.

and it is not uncommon for fresh hire to be given the assistant manager title in some ministry/sb due to title inflation. This shows that these trolls probably aint even in the civil/public service and knows nothing about it. I wonder what they are doing in this thread in the first place.

Thank you very much guys. Honestly I didn expect that much backlash. I worked really hard in SIM-RMIT (got a GPA of 2.1 in Temasek poly) and went on to be in the top 20 of the cohort, thus eligible for distinction degree. It was a difficult 2 years there.

yes , i agree its a easier way, provided u get at least a FCH from SIM-UOL or Distinction from SIM-RMIT. And yes, the pay will be higher, as shown in my job offer cos its a masters from NTU after all.

Precisely, an assistant manager is just a title inflation in the civil service; abelit with a higher pay. (An entry level position in MTI is already an assistant director position).

I just hope that SIM ppl can look forward to great careers even if its just SIM. I do often face doubts when I tell ppl I am 25 and gonna earn 3.9k, just because I was from SIM.
