How do you explain this? Before covid, 50% of NUS FCH and 2nd Upper Comp Science grad are heading to the US silicon valley. While Singapore imports plane loads of ceca.

ivory tower scholars fail to make policies attractive to retain our top talents to stay and work in SG, or attractive enough for those who stay to make more babies...

So they do the south asian way of covering up with excuses by saying we have a talent "shortfall" and hence we need ceca agreement.

Default Why are PS HR still asking for payslip?

Minister Josephine Teo has said that job seekers do not have to declare last drawn salary and employers cannot insist they do so (s://.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/jobseekers-declare-last-drawn-pay-employers-cannot-insist-648041).

After attending a few interviews in SBs recently, they are still asking me to submit my latest payslip. Some even ask for payslip before first interview.

One HR called me after an interview to indicate interest to proceed and ask me to submit payslip for admin purpose. However I said I prefer to nego salary based on years of experience and skill sets. HR kept trying to convince me to submit my payslip otherwise what they offer might be significantly lower. When I press for the salary range, HR refused to budge as well. We were going round and round until I gave my expected salary range first.

I wonder why are some HR so insistent on candidates producing payslip and if not doing so reduces the chance of getting the job.

What do you guys think?

no offence, but i will be super annoyed if i were interviewing u. I will just give it a pass and move on to the next person in the queue. no point going in circles or arguing (who is right and who is wrong) with u. If u can give so much issues even during an interview, god knows what u are capable of after u have joined the company. Just my two cents' worth of personal thoughts.

Do many jobs Nowadays require working on weekends or weekday nights? Seems to be the case.

The government will never be in favor for its own citizens as it has a fundamental distrust in their capacity

It's always FT first for them as a quick and easy fix just look at our IT, banking industry

It started with a PRC table tennis team to win a medal no one cared for -- and now its all Singaporeans with the CECA pact
