U aren't thinking that there will be a 15% jump in salary, are u.

ok understand, so there will not be a pay rise
what if the person is joining a superscale salary role?
will they pay the lower end of the scale? or still no pay rise?

you can be a director level and yet still be at mx10.
if they want to sign you up at superscale, they would have told u upfront

Thanks to the two previous posters for replying. Appreciate the responses
Does that mean joining CS as a mid career hire, you will never ever get a bump to your previous salary? CS will only match?
any condition under which you can get a pay rise upon joining?

I joined after working in private for 1 year . When I joined as Mx13 they did raise my salary by almost $200. Guess if u are earning much more as a mid-career individual, they may cut instead of add.
Point is they seem to have their norms and they will adjust accordingly to match them.

I dont know of all the 'what if' situations. Pointless to go there too. What i said earlier is the general thinking behind the approach taken, at least for my agency.

I can't really imagine such a scenario.
Usually the person will already be quite high level, say, SVP in the pte sector. The superscale pay range is used to match his pay.
It won't be like u are getting 9-10K, and u are offered a superscale job worth 11K. In that case, u can just be offered MX11A or MX10. MX10 is already very hard to justify u know.
