Congratulations on your success! You must be among the smart few who bought a landed property many years ago. Those owners who cashed out made millions of dollars.

Enjoy your peaceful retirement. No more rushing to work early in the morning and getting stuck in traffic jams!

I also plan to cash out and retire with my millions. LOL.

How I envy the older generation who profited from the propertyboom.

For me, I am just 30 years and planning to get married.

I will be burdened with a huge debt when I finally purchase my BTO 5 room.

I will be hand cuff to my job for next 30 years. Can't imagine the stress that I have to swallow.

Do we have a choice to live simply in Singapore??

Yes, by choosing to buy a 4 room or even 3 room BTO. But you chose to put yourself into bigger debt by getting a 5 room BTO. The stress you have to swallow was prepared by yourself.

You really think the older generation had it good? To every lucky "old generation" person who managed to profit from property there are hundreds who did not.

For example, just look at your own parents, are they proud owners of landed property of condo? How about your old aunties and uncles? Are they all landed property owners?

The other thing people dont normally share is the many years of hardwork and stress on the loans they had to endure before the payoff came.

I am sure you can see many older people out of work and running out of savings.

Every generation has its own opportunities. Often, people are too busy wallowing in self-pity to see the opportunities available to the, and thus miss them.

I am sure, 30 years later, the young people will say the same of your generation. Will you be one of those who rode the wave, or will you be one of those that missed the boat?

Why did you buy a 5 room BTO flat in a matured estate? Just buy a 3 room BTO in a non matured estate. Will cost you $100k plus only. You made the choice.

Wow 5 bedroom bto! How much is it? I think i will be more jia lat then u. I will hoot two bedroom condo hahaha. But no need 30 years la, try to save and earn more via working/investment. Try to pay off earlier if possible. My aim is ambitious, gonna get at least 3 condos, one for living the other two for rental. Of course, i will be sharing burden with my wife.

Wow! You're ambitious. How old are you? What's your household income now? Are you staying in the 2 bedroom condo now?

Nah i am only 27, slowly building up my wealth and hope to get my first condo (downpayment) before i hit 30. And typo should be wife to be hahaha. Then ard 38 years old hoot another 2 or 3 bedroom (under my wife name). Then 48 years old hoot another two bedroom. Then after that pay until 50+ then my rental will cover my debt liao. Then work until 60+ when all condo fully paid then song liao. By tat time if no one rent, then sell it for profit if got ppl rent then collect rental as passive income. Of course i will have some stocks and bonds as well to support my passive income a bit ambitious but i think can do it de
