Can I ask how does one transit from mo to RP? Do you just stay in one particular department (i.e mopex) for very long (4-5 postings) and hope they offer you the post?
What sort of pay are we looking at for rp?
- does it differ based on your seniority (i.e if you are pgy 4-5 vs 7-8) and the speciality that you are working in? (I.e ops rp vs gs rp vs Ed rp etc..)

U can ask your dept hod to open position for you.
Usually you should be about pgy5-6.
Pay is abt 6.5 basic. Plus abt 1k clinical allowance. Plus calls
Generally no difference in pay across specs

That's surprisingly little. Would have expected RP to be paid more than that. How is the progression like after one starts out as a RP? And is it much difference compared to the SR?

SR pay is abt same as RP.
Nowadays SR usually will convert to RP at end of training unless they go pte. Since there may not be sufficient cons position for them due to overtraining.

Essentially a MBBS is worth about 100-150k compensation nowadays for typical working hours.
You leave for gp world is stay on the system . Won't be much of a diff one.
Unless u start a business , own clinic.

- more if u go work before 7am for gm, or before 6am for gs
- more if u stay back after 5pm, volunteer for calls, sat and sun rounds, presentations, grandrounds
- much less u late for work. Do sloppy work. Complain abt work life balance
July is usually 0.5mth
So min 2.5mth if you arent suspended or placed on work improvement plan, average 3mth to 4. Better ones at 5. Good ones max 6mth.
