Depends if u stay in public sector polyclinics or come out into private to be GP. Private if u set up yr own clinic or do fulltime locum or be an anchor Dr in a private clinic.
I am an adhoc locum and been a locum fulltime for 10 years. Really depends for me what r the jobs available and how hard I want to work. Jobs r there esp if u don't mind working nights and weekends. Rates r variable, generally about S$80-$100 per hr. Sometimes lower if slack or new clinic and higher if very busy clinic snd u r able to see many patients. As some clinics give tiered rates, u can also try to negotiate higher rates if last minute slots or if u r good at bringing in sales like for health screening and vaccinations and u r a regular locum.
Not sure about private clinics basic pay range now. But as a locum, if u work hard, u can bring in more than S$10k a month. My best was S$15k one month but that was several years ago. I cannot work too many hrs and don't like odd hrs so I am sure many other male locums do better than me a female with family ie kids' commitments.
I like the freedom being a locum brings with the ability to plan yr own timings of work. But no cpf nor paid leave like mc and annual and hospitalisation leave nor bonus.
I experienced how difficult it is to get mc as an employee even when pregnant. Much easier as locum when leave is unpaid. Can take long breaks if I feel like it too.

Currently an Singaporean going to study medicine in Australia, I’ve been hearing rumours that Singaporeans abroad are being denied a PGY1 spot in Singapore. Is this true? Even though there are 100+ schools that are cut from the second schedule? I will be finishing Med school in 6 years, will the problem improve as years pass if true? My school is still on the second schedule. Thanks

There are also many more experienced doctors that are still in their public service even though their bond has ended long ago. In fact you look at the mopex list you can find some mcr that starts with 08XXX. So seniority is not a factor
I do not have the intention of breaking bond and quitting this program. If i did I would have done it long ago, and i would not bother with applying for residency.
Furthermore, im truly interested in this program.
I came from a poor family, was funded partially by bursaries. I feel that it is my duty to continue in public service.
So they will be okies.

Other than trying to test your thinking, they are also Really concerned about residency attrition. Must make them feel at ease
The rates are higher for older docs like you.

How high is the residency attrition rate nowadays? (Is it worse for certain specialities?)

Where did you get your basic medical degree from? (Eg MBBS/MD). What’s the process for migrating there, I read you need to be PR first before you can get a residency there after you take their medical licensing exam. How’s the life as a physician there and how’s the pay? Lastly, what made you migrate there compared to where you once were? Thanks.
