Maybe in London especially F1 I know some people still get allowance but i think that's an exaggeration. Most people can afford to live on NHS salary after graduation easily and buy a house in registrar years if live outside of London. No BtO and have to pay rent but still doable with locums

Hi, can I check is general surgery residency competitive? what's the waiting time like? what do they look for in the applicants?
