Anyone knows about the pay, workload, pt profile etc (Looking for options post mmed in November)

Aesthetics 30k lei.
That's easily double what the FMC can pay you
Maybe see 3 patient a day somemore only.
Why bother to do gen med stuff.

Hello, i am a singaporean but studied medicine in the US, currently doing internal medicine residency and aiming to be a hospitalist. I am hoping to return to singapore to work. If anyone can help me, I would like to know is hospitalist a thing in singapore and how different is the job aspect/requirements/system compared to the US?

There’s no demand for hospitalists in SG. Internal medicine doctors don’t have the flexibility when it comes to working 2 weeks on, and 2 weeks off, unlike that in the US.
Would recommend that you do your fellowship after internal medicine residency. Possibly in cards/GI/haem onc. Geriatrics and endocrinology are also good options. You need at least 3 years of working experience as an attending in order to return to SG as a consultant. If not, you will just be hired a service registrar.

The work of a hospitalist is typically performed by junior staff in Singapore.
Medical Officers and Registrars.
Singapore doesnt have the concept of hosoitalists.
Unlike USA and Canada.
In Canada some hospitalists are Family Physicians CCFP.
Probably better long term prospects for you financially to stay in North America if you want to perform Hospitalist work .

It is a thing in Singapore
Just that it's called advanced internal medicine here.
U can't finish us internal med training and hope to land a AC job in Singapore
Becuase u are at the level equivalent to someone who just pass his mrcp and exit basic residency here.
If u have a record of being an attending for 6 years , some hospital desperate for many power might offer u AC but u cannot get accrediting as a specialist with just a abim IM diploma
Someone mention those hot speciality. Problem is in those speciality even local grads can't find jobs in their choice insitution. So good luck.
sg style internal med damn shag one la
U work every day but got minions do Ur scut work. Problem is Minons quality not very good.
Sometimes u prefer to see yourself.
Every weekend must round
Public holiday must round
Constantly on the edge and work never finish.
Discharge a few today, tomorrow another few come in
Day after day
Week after week
Years after years
MC u have to find someone cover your clinic
Still have to cover your own patient from home
Patient appreciative still ok
But now and then u will meet those as if u owe them a living
Family conference many times no outcome. They expect u to do magic to their demented 98 year old mother.
Soul searing

It’s really the path to wealth if CMI. Some of them look physically ugly also, but still thick skin and do aesthetics.
Anyway, much better that they continue doing lasers and facials and stay away from actual patient care.
