What's the average age for a singaporean male to complete the above
Bonds starts once u finish ho. So about 5 years
To take into a specialty of your choice about 5 years.
Both bond and trying to get into a specialty of choice runs concurrently.

At end of five years, u should have secured a trainee position.
Most residency programs run from 5-6 years

So i would say 5+6 = 11
So by 37 u should able to complete it

The poster had described his immigration experience quite extensively previously so I won't belabour the point. Essentially, you would have to apply to become a Canadian PR, write the necessary board exams (MCCEE, MCCQE 1 & 2) and complete a 2-year residency.
That's seems pretty simple!

Currently a junior mo here. Still thinking between IM and FM as a long term career choice. Have no special interest in any of the subspec, so will prob aim for gen med if I do enter IM.
Was wondering which is a better choice in terms of demand, career progression/job opportunities and work/life balance in the long run?

Pick Calgary if you enjoy the outdoors, since the Canadian Rockies are only an hour away.

Pick Toronto if you prefer an urban lifestyle that is more similar to SG.

I prefer outdoors! Rockies got lakes to kayak, ski resorts in winter there are like 4 resorts about 1-2 hours away from Calgary! Amazing! And the cost of living there really is solid. Big nice house about $500-600k!

Anybody else from SG migrated to Canada? I read that some doctors can just practice medicine right away no need to take exams and do residency?

Different specialists make different amounts. Is there a specific one you are looking for?
