Anyone has updated info on this? Able to do TC in Jan before July part B?

Are snakes and sharks commonplace in law firms and within the same departments?

Depends la. Big firms too busy to play politics at the junior level. All just trying to survive. Workload boss and client bad enough already.

It's in the small firms where there are more such nonsense actually. Something abt trying to be a big fish in a small pond and comparing to see who gets put on the more interesting file. This is a function of there being infrequent amount of interesting work for smaller firms. Pathetic really. Glad I got the f out.

I did ask SILE before and you cannot do TC before graduating from Part B (and Part A, for overseas grad).

The real question is given that Part B is now offered in Jan as well, will law firms cater to this cohort by allowing TC to start in Jun/Jul instead of the usual Jan.

I think that applies to the old Part B regime. The wording in the new notice seems suggest that you can do TC before the 2023 Part B during this transitional period.

Think the answer to your second question is up to you to broker an agreement with your firm ba

Common everywhere, and not just in law firms actually.

As for vying to be on more visible cases, it also happens everywhere.

After sometime, you will realize it is human nature.

Agree. Practice teaches one not to trust any human, not even those you were trying to groom.

Some call it competition, but I don’t buy the argument that competitiveness can justify unethical behaviour.

Trust your instinct. If a person sounds and behaves like a snake or shark, assume they are - even if they claim they are actually a caterpillar or goldfish.
