Only if you're considering doing litigation in future (and even then b4 liti or int firm liti/arb is probably a better bet).
If you want to do corp don't bother.

Question is too general. It depends on what you are doing at AGC and what you want to do in a private firm. For example, doing white collar crimes in AGC might be valuable experience for a white collar/investigations role in an international firm.

IB 40 pointer.
Got rejected from OxBridge and NUS Law.
Accepted to UCL and LSE.
But parents don’t like me to study in London because it’s not safe and rents are costly.
What are the alternative Uni choices that I should consider?

How far up the ivory tower are these people? Dismissive, lip service about the financial impact of an increased 1 year TC period on trainees. A totally unnecessary increased duration, I might add.
Don't forget that for every firm that waxes lyrical about their generosity in increasing their TC allowance by $500-1000 (oh joy, how grateful trainees should be for their firms' largesse), 2 other firms are probably sticking with the same amount and happy to work their trainees like a full associate but pay them at the unchanged trainee stipend.
The part about hurting bottom lines because they can't charge clients for trainees' work is bollocks anyway, because the reality is that the trainees will be deployed to do more lower order tasks, freeing up the qualified associates to take on more billable work anyway.

When will the supplementary results be released?

Newbie here so just wanna understand how failing one module will reflect on me? Does it significantly diminish my chances of TC conversion? Is there any good way to tell the firm about it? Is it common for people to fail one mod?
Thanks guys!

I failed one of my exams this year too. Can i check if anyone knows when the supplementary exam results will be out this year? Can I still get mass called in August assuming the dates are similar to last year around 20 ish Aug?
Also will i get the SILE certificate to file my affidavit if the results are released late?

These are questions you should be directing to SILE, not this anonymous forum. They have a Q&A page for precisely this reason.

For big 4, are all decisions on retention informed to HR by a particular deadline? Or do partners have discretion on when to announce retention?

Different departments announce at different times, but they are usually not too far apart, maybe a week or two at most.
