That's what a lot of people who join big4 or Accenture for crappy pay and overwork tell me - supposed reputation and learning. Not that I disagree, but to me putting yourself to get underpaid by 30% while working extra 50% makes no sense.
That is the story these usual sweatshop miscreants sell to the undergrads and it seems most here just swallow it full. I've never seen the same companies in first world cities treat their fresh hires so shabbily, only in 3rd world where grads are desperate to get a good brand in CV due to limited opportunities do they put up with this nonsense.

There is a very strong culture in sg to go for brands. Firms like Big 4 and Accenture sell themselves as "prestigious consultancies" that will help build a high flying career elsewhere in the future.
Reality is they are more tier 2/3 sort of MNC and although it will help when compare to people with only SME or GLC exp, its not really prestigious or open doors as the grads think.

From what I know, Accenture's graduate program pays 3.8k + 300 allowance. That is decent, slightly above average salary but no-where compared to Tier 1 MNCs.
Big 4, of course, is a total joke when it comes to salaries....

Examples of what you consider Tier 1 MNCs? Unilever, P&G?
