Pros:
1. structured career path. First few promotions to CL9 consultant is almost guaranteed even for average performer within 3-4 years. Just need to put in the hours.
2. many different roles to take on (since you on project basis)

Cons:
1. long hours, no work life balance. Will only get worse the higher you go.
2. may get stuck at CL9 consultant and hard to make it to Assistant manager if you don’t demonstrate you are hungry enough.

Advise to fresh grads: Accenture is a great place to kick start your career. If you can make assistant manager by 5-6 years, the pay is very comfortable for someone in late 20s/ early 30s. (8-9k/ mth) Also plenty of opportunities to change job as Accenture’s brand name is well-knowned in Singapore and globally.
Hmm a decade to reach CL7.. some reached it in under 7 years

ACN Tech is good since it’s known for tech, ACN strategy still ok, ACN consulting joke. You aren’t even doing consulting work, instead you’re just doing what the client tells you

Goes to prove his points on how you may stay stuck at CL9 Consultant.

Promotion is guaranteed if you put in the hours. Hmmm then how much hours is considered enough since the OT culture is widely known to be really bad for everyday, if majority are required to OT to this standard, how do you stand out then to “put in the hours”? In short, basically you got to work like a slave to be promoted, btw analyst to senior analyst only increase $400 please, is this even a proper promotion?

RB consulting is better than ACN consulting, the latter isn’t even consulting. RB is tier 2 strategy consulting and the kind of projects is similar to that of MBB. You have a better shot at jumping ship as compared to consulting in ACN

If you take a look at projects in Acn, all are tech related which is acn strength. But consulting isn’t acn strength unless you’re doing tech consulting then maybe. MBB and tier 2 are dealing with strategy consulting, even acn management consulting isn’t even close, it is just change management. As to why clients don’t outsource, majority of acn clients are public sector, it’s “safer” to be doing it with acn instead of outsourcing and again there’s implementation work in place across all projects. As for whether it’s cheaper or not, can’t really say on this but many of the projects are pretty long. Not that acn is bad, just that people need to understand the difference in the “consulting” acn does as compared to actual consulting MBB and tier 2 are doing.

What’s the salary increment from analyst to senior analyst? Is it per the market rate?
