HR make formal offer.

If candidate is not keen with the verbal offer, most likely than not the hiring process will stop at step 1. The cs generally receives many applications for their vacancies and therefore competition is keen. The next best candidate/s down the line will then be considered. Hence the long waiting time.

That’s why the wait can be so long esp if we are not the first candidate in line. HR sent prelim offer, why still need to get approval? I thought they should have gotten it before they send the prelim offer.

Yea i second this. I was called 2 days after my final interview so i presume i might be either the first or second candidate in line. But the whole approval process is taking close to a month now. Bit worried.

1) usually how long from application to interview stage?
2) for junior role, MUST have 2 interviews?
3) status "in-process" doesnt really mean anything right?
4) for reference check, do they ask for current employer or previous employer? if i dont want my current employer to know, can i use previous employer?
5) do all jobs only accept fch n 2nd upper?

Have they given any prelim offer? N reference check done? Did any of your referral receive any reference check?

Nope just a call from them to discuss expected salary and that they will put my designation up for approval. No prelim offer and my reference weren’t called upon yet. And it has already been a month. Last checked in with hr 2 weeks back, they were still processing my application.

I've been reading many of the posts in this thread now...
Can I ask if most of your interviews are for contract positions in the civil service? Not permanent?
