Hi, which year during the COVID years (2020-2022) were you promoted?

Some previous posts mentioned promotion to GEO4 in 2021 got the 9% adjustment, while those promoted in 2022 only got the 5%.

rubbish analogy, original point made was abt setting boundaries

despite their many complains, they’re still in education service, and form the bulk of civil servants. could it be due to the fact that their skills are not transferrable? so the best they could do is to complain and point finger at others, and then quietly toe the line.

Promoted in April 2022 to GEO4.

Only 5% adjustment in Oct 2022. Back calculated using difference in April and Oct basic pay.

Anyone of the same batch with the same experience?

Thumbs down Stop the blame game

Teachers should stop blaming and pointing fingers. It is not a respectable behavior.

Typically, the pay scales are designed to be long ladders for the job holder to remain in service for long time.

Most will get increment every year or if they hit the ceiling, periodic salary reviews will increase the ceilings.

Relatively, the pay is decent and somewhat seniority based.

Not a teacher, but have many teacher friends. Seeing this comment, makes me believe all the more that teachers are invaluable to our society, to lessen the likes of you and at least mould majority of the next gen to be more positive and more appreciative.
