I am very confused between contract position (with benefits as a permanent employee for a 2-year contract) and AR. Will we, as the contractor, still be able to remain after 2 years in this situation?

Staff hired under direct contracts are considered as GovTech staff, so you're in a much better position than AR. Whether or not your contract is renewed depends on your performance as well as the needs for the role.

Just curious as to how the salary of GovTech compares to other agencies if anyone has any idea for tech roles. Like what would be the rough salary range?
