Even if they are desperate, they are suppressed and tied down by the quota enforcement by the Ministry itself. Most places are still deemed to be "excess".

RO said I'll be promoted this year. Took quite a pay cut to become a teacher... but it's what I've been wanting to do.

Do schools have a choice in declining officers in closed posting?

Was your highest qualification a Diploma before switching to teaching? I have a similar friend who's Degree holder before switching over, the pay after 5 years also in teaching, is quite much higher than yours. Because GEO 5 already.

My bf served 18 years in MOE & 6 years in pvt sector previously but only earned 6.4k. Lower than his prev job 18years ago. So poor thing...
