Think about it : The manager has to take responsibility over the entire team efforts and output, to be answerable to the partner. It’s damn scary. You often don’t get to choose your team members and have to work with people you met for the first time.
Imagine a project work where you do your best but your whole team cannot make it and you end up getting like a C grade.
I really hate this kind of situation of being held accountable for events or people outside my control.

Team screw up at most just 拍拍屁股 tender and leave
Manager is further into their career, more rooted and harder to leave, more likely to have commitment like family and kids.
If manager tell the team to do, gave good and perfect instructions, but team never do properly, end up still manager responsible zzz
What to do? At most just loop in the big boss to cover backside a bit, make it clear he has done what he can do.
End of the day, the idea of being held accountable for things beyond your control is uncomfortable to me la.

That’s why in school always pick your project mates wisely. Unless really is assigned and you have no choice.

But if manager overnighted and also never spotted mistake and end up blaming team for this mistake, is it correct? Not saying team is can 拍拍屁股 but isn’t this team effort? If team screw up, manager should also be held accountable instead of throwing the team under the bus to protect himself

err if you read my post properly, I already say managers are held accountable/responsible for it.
It's a team effort lor, I feel like things should change such that team should bear a bigger share of the responsibility.

This is true but Now accountants using old tech like optical character recognition. Anw even if they implement, more ppl will get slash.
