At most senior managers may partake in interview process

But managers have no say in the salaries of associates

lol actually managers are also just employees like you and me.. in fact my manager is from same school as me just that he graduate 2 years earlier only..

And in two years time if all goes well then I will become manager also… doesn’t mean manager represent the firm or anything.

This should go without saying but for anyone new: don’t confuse managers with management.

Many managers in Big 4 are not fit to be managers as big 4 doesn't assess your management skills but only look at how many hours you slog, whether you are a good wage slave, whether you have CA qualification.

Ppl in big 4 should stop complaining pay and working hours if all it takes to be mgr level is just to grind 5 years and not get big f*ck upz

And anyways in audit there’s very sim chance, almost have to try to fck up before mgr grade

An opinion from an ex-big 4 quitter cos I no want to grind in a hopeless place

Which is also good for us because easier to make manager here than outside? You can take the manager title then go outside be manager and they won't re-assess you.

If there's any service line that is ripe for more automation and replacement by AI, audit would be one of the prime candidates. The only reason why it is not done, is because its cheaper to hire malaysians and outsource to philippines, than invest in automation tech.

This is only short term, which I believe is what they into. Once these countries are developed, there might be a chance that these ppl wont do it as well. Anw Good point, one of the highlight for my interview.

Ya lor, my colleagues senior CMI also made mgr in Big 4 after 5 years of grinding
CMI still can make $7k/mth as Entry level mgr after 5 YOE

Easy to get mgr in Big 4 as long as long u willing to work like a OX
