but if you're already pulling 5k+ and garena offers you 6-7k, 1-2k a month extra to OT like a dog? LMAO holy crap I hope NO ONE does this. Economically the dumbest choice ever.
OT like dog -> make more money -> stressed cause OT like dog -> Spend extra money on entertainment / grabfood / other things to make ur life easier
Don't fall into this stupid cycle lol

This is myopic, at 6k you are still very junior. Yes the hours can be harsh, but the experience and your portfolio will command better compensation down the road.
You want to make 6k for the rest of your life at 3% increment?

make 6k+ and only work 2-3 hours a day? LMAO why not?
U wanna work 16 hours a day and over the weekends like a dog just for a few extra K and "experience" which btw is very subjective and most companies don't even give a ****... They'll just grill you LC hard questions and if u can't do them then u suck.
Be my guest bro. Meanwhile others are using the extra hours that they have grinding LC and joining FAANG in the next year or two making 2x more than you with 1/4 the effort and time lost lol
SMH boomers.

Ok I summarise.
To be a dog or not, your choice.

OCBC is a place for retirement, filled with boomers, culture very boomerish as well. Progression is generally poor as promotion depends alot on seniority ie years spent in the bank and many boomers are not going anywhere nor about to retire soon. OP is in his early 30s and a tech professional. OCBC is a local bank while Garena is a tech startup. To deploy anything into production would take multiple levels of clearances and approvals in any local bank. The only reason why local banks can survive despite such sluggishness is because they already have a well-established, sticky customer base and competition is very restricted due to high barriers to entry ie full banking license required from MAS. Garena is under Sea Group, which is rapidly growing and even beginning to threaten traditional banks with their newly-acquired digital banking license. It's a no-brainer imo.

Go garena if u wanna OT like a dog and leave at 10pm and be on call everyday
Go ocbc if u don't mind simple easy life with all the boomers who leave at 5.30 pm exactly

Both ocbc and garena offer same salary to OP. Thought garena will be paying more given all the good reviews.
