Just with travelling time alone, ocbc seems better. It is not like Garena paying you double of ocbc.

I have a different view. OP is not young and should go for a more conservative company like a bank, OCBC
Garena this kind of fast growth tech company in a frivolous consumer industry (gaming) may be attractive to youngsters as a "hip" and "fun" place. But who knows if they're gonna be bought, sold, restructured, organizational shake-up etc within the next 5 years? This kind of fast moving companies don't last super long in their current form. OP may be restructured out of a job
Whereas OCBC, you can be assured they'll be around as long as Singapore is around.

Yes, I am 33 this year and planning to start family next year if all goes well. OCBC seems more "stable" to me though I am also keen on the young and vibrant aspects of Garena which will allow me to really learn much as well. The problem is that Glassdoor still rates Garena way higher than OCBC not just in terms of culture but also work-life balance etc.

You are in your early thirties not late twenties therefore, OCBC which can provide better security is a better choice. Family building is of paramount importance at this stage of your life and it comes with providing for your family. Garena is a good alternative choice provided your wife is from a non tech industry and is of similar earning capacity as you.

Garena is ass lmao why would you wanna work there
Literally a dumping ground for young ones to get quick high starting pay to use as leverage when job hopping a year or two later into more fair WLB companies.
No one there actually enjoys their work. Glad I left after a year, absolute insane culture

LOL how is that ever worth it?
unless you're talking about going from horrible can't survive kinda salary like 1k a month to 4-5k then ya sure, go OT as much as u want, it's a huge change...
but if you're already pulling 5k+ and garena offers you 6-7k, 1-2k a month extra to OT like a dog? LMAO holy crap I hope NO ONE does this. Economically the dumbest choice ever.
OT like dog -> make more money -> stressed cause OT like dog -> Spend extra money on entertainment / grabfood / other things to make ur life easier
Don't fall into this stupid cycle lol
