I think it is a little unfair to suggest that as Polytechnics are stat boards who have to follow PSD guidelines. There is also a misconception that PAP is equal to civil service and public service. They are separate entities serving the legislative and executive branch to run the country.

Hmmm... This place is definitely not a longterm thing. And not to sound conceited, I'm pretty sure they need me more than I need them in my sch/dept.

I , too, am very sure I am needed. And I also have job possibilities in the industry as was asked to join back recently. As long as I am erudite and technically competent, I am pretty sure I am relevant anywhere. I do enjoy the teaching, but not the constant hankering by management to fulfill their KPI. I think all ACAD staff in the polys and ITE deserve the pay revision. MOE, PSD, please take action.

I can go back to industry anytime. I just don't like the traveling, but I will if I think I am not being fairly compensated over time.

Apologies, clarification. I will if I think I am not fairly compensated compared to other teachers in MOE and other Public service officers over time.

You will definitely be taking a paycut after you jump from MOE to poly. Poly also doesnt give Connect Year payouts like MOE.

Yes , you can get 5.4k for PAX5. confirm double confirm chop chop. But also depend on your pay now. if you on 4k, doubt poly will give you 5.4k it is at the top end of the ax5 scale!

Yes, but it's unlikely that you'll be placed under PAX 5. I'm assuming that you have 4 years of MOE teaching but zero industry experience.

I have 10 yrs of teaching and senior management experience in both govt and pte sector. Holds a bachelor from Nus and Masters from NTU, and PGDE. Current pay around 5.2-5.5k, as long as they pay me 5.4k to cross the bar I ll be happy.
