I'm a 31 year old male who's been working in Construction sales for the past 4 years and am looking to join the banking industry. Have been told to join UOB's premier banking as an RM. Just wondering if anyone has any experience on how the job's like (day to day, salary, etc) and if it's realistic for someone like me with no banking experience to join?
Thanks in advance!

Only go if got no other jobs... My friends in BOS marketing contract... at $4.5k pay (TFIP programme). All never got converted. BOS would rather keep getting new contractors at very low pay.

Your friends are fresh grads? They got into this programme after graduation? How long is the duration of this programme?

No they are career switchers. Age range is quite wide got mid 20s to 30s.
Programme is 9 months learning at a poly and then 9 months contract at a financial institution

If i were you, i'll forgo it. Becoming premier banking RM is no different to becoming insurance agent. The only difference is you are paid a monthly salary and sell in the branch instead of at mrt station.

Guys, just wondering and out of curiosity, if say towards the end of the contract and your boss would like to convert you to permanent, would you be able to ask for slightly increase in salary compared to what you get while on contract? Are people allowed to negotiate about it? And if so roughly how many percent can you ask for increment?
