hmm been reading this thread since the beginning, and i have read various extremes to the life of an lae.

im due to grad soon in about a month's time, taking an australian degree at psb academy. I won't deny I have interest in the aircraft industry, but just not too sure if i would want to commit 8 years away. i am 25 this year, so would it be a wrong move if i do join as lae?

any friendly inputs from people who have been in the same situation are much appreciated. thanks.

Hello my friend if u don't mind salary low and ur hand dirty...why not...just go for it ...but bear in ur mind ...starting on the apprenticeship u will suffer and with the low salary.....

They didn state whether that amount includes license or not but logically thinking, that should be "all that you will be getting" since they mentioned that being an lae, u get this much. Of cos this is purely assumption...
Positive note, this will not include type allowance...

I am in a situation almost similar to yours but i'm only a dip holder. They do not recgonize part time degrees.
For me, 8 years is a darn long amount of time. By joining this scheme, it sort of decides what i will do in my entire life. So for me is to weigh the amount of liking i have touching grease and other really harmful substances that could be cancerous, vapour, loud noises, shift work if you are sent to military side.
We can't choose the company we would join (st aero/susco), we can't choose what type rating we would be getting.
On the good side, you have a stable job for 8 years n beyond =)

Hi, so far as i know this first type allowance the company would not pay for it until u get the second type and wait for the second type is depend ur company want to send u or not ...compare to the white collar in the company the blue colllar road is more tough;-)

Today I off day never go back to whack my $400++ per day OT (Ya go back OT 1 day $400++, consider low liao haha, my senior senior senior senior $1000 per day).

Ok diploma holder apprentice year 1 $1600 ++ (of course not inclusive of licence allowances after establish lah if not eat grass ah)
Degree $2500 to $3100 (not inclusive of licence allowances after establish if not who so cxxk will join)

Which company am I from?? The Gxxden Bixxd logo lo hee hee (I give real and solid info so I dunno if i did infringe anything so I dun give exact company name)

And ya you guys very funny one, keep asking good to join good to join or not, tell you no good, your dun believe, ask for fun ar ... haha.

People like to get stuck in path of no return(aka stuck with bond) then will scared haha.
