(2) The formal hiring process changes over time as well. Years ago Govtech had no coding tests. Now they do and standards are increasing. Must management make all existing staff go through the same tests and fire those who cannot pass? What if you fail? Interviews and hiring are always subjective. OGP breaking off and offering insane salaries how? Need to call in CPIB to investigate Li Hongyi?
Your arguments are harping on technicalities without looking at the big picture. Tech agencies in the public sector have repeatedly tried and failed to build up deep technical expertise over the years. They do need to try something different and tap on the people and expertise from the private sector to keep Singapore ahead.

(1) please quote examples. People have no real work or not is not something we should worry about. It will be reflective in their performance appraisal. They will have to compete with their peers and managers have to answer for them
(2) you are right standards are getting higher. Even for govtechies our competencies and appraisal is getting more wordy to write. There's so much more to prove. So existing govtechies are still going through vigorous assessment. The question is why are they so easily absorbed at 60 plus people plus getting high salary? It doesn't make sense.
Ogp published their salary online. Do we as govtech publish our salary online? If not pls leave ogp out of it.
What a load of bullock

Govtech salaries? Right in this thread or go to MCF website lor. You argue so much also no use one lah. Even if your DCE did not bulk hire the Ex-Indeeds, the job grades and promotions won't go to you one.
Go hone your skills, expand your network instead of focusing on the jealousy.

Erm, just off the top of my head
Singpass/Corppass
TraceTogether
SafeEntry
SupplyAlly
Parents Gateway
Student Learning Space
All the products under SGTS
What OGP has delivered so far is a tiny fraction of what GovTech has delivered.
OGP is part of GovTech after all.

LOL. None of these simple apps require the bloated headcount of thousands of people that GT employs, let alone a bunch of new hires who walked in without any obvious tasking to do.
1 FAANG dev is probably worth 10 GT ones in terms of ability and productivity.
