there's no need for so many headcounts at all
many depts are surplus to requirements like STG, DITG

Hope future employers who hire these HR will google their name to see how smelly their rep is…

worst HR people I ever encountered in my career
they got zero empathy becoz whether staff crying or not doesn't affect their PB
they got nowhere else to go so just remain in IMDA and protect the bosses to protect their rice bowl

I can understand that the poor minions at the bottom feel like this. How about the DD and D of their respective dept, do they feel equally hopeless that despite having 'power', they really have no control over their work due to LCH? Anyone in power cares to share their insights?

Another HR-baiting post.
HR just come here and bait for posting, instead of investigating internally, or implementing 180/360 evaluation for the organisation. Disgusting

A couple of interviews I went to, whenever I mentioned I was with IMDA, I was questioned inside out, upside down, and asked intensely extensively what I did and contributed working at IMDA. It’s very demoralizing, and whatever your replies are being hammered down, based on the interviewers’ experience with IMDA.
So…
1) I no longer relate any work experience I had with IMDA
2) If you have joined IMDA and you think you are OK, sure, stay on. Else within 2-3 months, just leave and find some other jobs
3) If you are not good at presentation, you won’t last in IMDA
4) If you cannot just say Yes to suggestions for your ADs and above, even if they are infantile, you won’t last long in IMDA
5) IMDA HR is renown to side management, not every employee. So be prepared for this

Bro...the hard truth is that the private sector really does not know what IMDA does. You see the other stat boards by comparison, people can instantly draw a link to it:
MAS - regulate banks
CSA - cybersecurity
GovTech - software development
HDB - (self-explanatory)
CPF - (self-explanatory)
PUB - water resources
LTA - traffic and roads
But when hiring manager see IMDA, their first thought:"is this the stat board that watch movie and assign ratings?" Damn sian but what to do.

Everyone knows Govtech, CSA and even DSTA, HTX and CSIT employs the real pros so they struggle to think of what kind of people does IMDA employ.
The hard truth is IMDA is just a pool of generalists who stupidly follow LCH and call themselves architects of singapore's digital future...
