correct me if im wrong, so u are saying the majority of degree holders (pass degree to 2nd upper) will retire as MX11?

what's the difference between MX11 / MX11A / MX11B, and which out of these 3 is the highest rank?

thanks.

All 3 are MX11 technically. Because MX11 is the default glass ceiling for most deg grads, a lot of civil servants complain that they hanta taki by early 40s no career progression. After that they decide to create sub bands within MX11 to create more 'promotions'. The current MX11A and MX11B are just sub cuts of a much wider MX11 band in the past.

Together with the sub division, a new job title Senior Assistant Director was also created, but in terms of actual job, there is no difference between a SAD and AD. As far as the higher ups are concern, MX11A and MX11B are just parking lots for majority of long serving civil servants.

MX10 usually for a deg farmer you will need to at least have long term above average above CEP/performance before you can get there. I would say only ~20% of MX scheme deg grads manage to reach MX10 by retirement. Only ~5% of top performers will eventually promote to MX9 & above level.

so in short, your summary for most likely retirement ranks / grades for degree holders are:

MX9 - 5%
MX10 - 20%
MX11 - 75%

I don't have access to the actual numbers across entire civil service, but base on my own observation in the ministry my best guess for farmer glass ceiling is:

MX9 & above - below 5%
MX10 - 15+%
MX11 - 80%

MX9 is definitely rare for non-scholars. For e.g. in MOE one need to be a principal of a big school to be MX9 equivalent, so the ratio is 1 principal : 80 VP/HOD/SH/Teachers/Admin

Thanks, that seems qt high. I'm thinking to apply to CAAS from another stat board. I have abt 3.5 years exp now. Would it be considered deputy manager or manger if I switch? What's the salary range like for DM? How's the career progression like and how long does it takes to get promoted? Any info on the working environment and culture there?

Thanks!

In my ministry there is 1 non-scholar that hit MX7 before reitrement, so the possibility is there, but the stars need to be aligned.
