Currently earning 5.5k/month (85-90k/year incl. bonuses). Is this a good amount? Thanks!
that's an awfully sick amount.

- 27M from local uni means ~2.5 years working.
- Median salary for local grad in 2021 around $4k.
- In the best optimistic case let's say after 1st year 5% increment, after 2nd year 20% increment (promo, revision) and finally a post-covid pay adjustment of around 10%
- Estimated median salary for said grad in 2023-2024 around $5.5k.
- In non-govt, private sector give and take around 2mth bonus max.
- Annual comps incl. bonus around 77k.

So you tell me good or not good?

4k is maybe for ministry roles. Stat boards with technical roles usually pay more. For FASS grad I'll say it's pretty good.

I have 8.5 YOE, base salary 8k, annual income with bonuses 130k. Not in a STEM field.

Any hopes of something better out there for a non-tech industry worker or is this already on pace with around the most decent job I can hope for?

Sounds good for govt job. But be careful of stagnating in govt for too long.

Is AGO considered stat board? Worth to go instead of the usual big4?

This sounds like LTA. Most young engineers won't survive long because while the base is high, the progression is extremely slow.

Slowly farm the money and settle your life-pressing issues first.

Big 4 offers better progression and exit opportunities.
