Do check your facts before misleading others. This guide only counts basic salary. No bonuses etc.

Data & Methodology: Your input is benchmarked against the monthly gross wages of Singaporean and permanent resident full-time private sector employees in MOM’s Occupational Wages 2021 data. The data was collected from July to December 2021 and salaries might have risen since then.

Gross wage refers to the sum of basic wage - before deduction of employee CPF contribution and income tax - and other regular cash payments such as commission and overtime payment. It excludes employer CPF contribution, bonus, stock option and other lump sum payments.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;227617]Your comparisons are really flawed. You are using the ceiling salary of mx11a and mx10 (of whom have worked 20-40 years and at their career end) to compare against the average salary of working class (from fresh grads to retirement age) and concluding that CS pays well. The accurate method is to compare the equivalent position of MX11A/MX10 against their respective counterparts holding similar responsibilities in private sectorUOTE]

Even I do not use the ceiling, both MX 10 and MX11A average also earning around or above 11kpm which is also easily in the 10th - 20th percentile while is also above the median. I do not think this percentile is anyway below the average private rate.

Just want to make the point that of course private has outliers who earn more but if we consider general average, i think CS/PS salary is at least on par with general market

This is from singstats on the salary calculations which include bonus and allowance. Please get your facts correct

You really the joker!! The ceiling for 11a is 9k plus and you say 11k per month is the average salary? And 11k is the ceiling for mx10! How can it be the average? Plus u did not address the point that u r comparing mx10/11a (degree holders) ceiling salary against the average salary for all tax payers (from psle onwards). I think it’s quite obvious you are comparing Apples with watermelons without realising it

You provided the link yourself, and I only showed the data methodology which was with the guide. And now u go to another website to show a separate methodology. I not sure what are u trying to do?

It is lower than the MX10 range
As I've learned, just because you get promoted to another grade, doesn't mean your salary gets adjusted to the minimum of that grade
