My wife and I are young professional couple and make a combined income of approximately 700k per year, but wondering if a bungalow is realistic at this point. We have around 500k combined savings, and no other assets.

How do you make so much money but save so little on top of having no assets?

500k combined savings can barely scrape Orchard/Newton/Stevens 3 bedders, wait long long for bungalow la.

For those of you who recently bought a bungalow, what did your finances look like when you purchased the home?

I'm not looking for bungalow in Orchard. I don't mind living near Siglap/Marine Parade or Kallang or Serangoon as long as walkable distance to MRT.

alot depends on:
land size, years of lease left and location of the bungalow
income - expenditure, job stability, years left till planned retirement
current home asset

my very generalized view is if it's a 3-5 mil bungalow, have minimally 2-3mil of available cash to be on the safe side for an early 40s couple.

the rest pay by installment from your day job or business income over the years.

purchasing a property should be worked out very detailedly on your own as everyone's situation is different.
