Hi all,
Just wanted to ask.
With a bachelor of science (first class hons) in management from UOM offered by SIM and with a Masters in Professional accounting from SMU,
1+ yrs working experience (intern at local bank, temp in foreign bank)
What kind of work can I look for if I apply in the big 4 or other institutes?
And how much annual package can I look out for?
Many thanks!

totally agree with you on this - the turning point in my life was when i jpined debates in uni, and found it helped immensely with both public speaking and confidence - both social and professional confidence. but i think thr most crucial question ppl should ask you is this : even with newfound confidence, how did you manage to get a foot in the banking door at 35 years old? especially without going for an MBA? it seems from a lot of the postings here that its tough for even 20 somethings to break into banking from other industries, because banks are apparently very focused on hiring fresh grads. hard to get an interview even. did you know people inside your first bank who helped you get a chance to interview?
thanks man!

While at the Uni lecturing, I did official consulting work outside related to my research. One of them was at a bank that eventually hired me.

Is your work in those financial firms and banks related to IT? or are they really finance related? care to share more what kind of roles they are?
also are you able to shed some light on whether those working in IT side of foreign banks are able to earn that kind of amt that you're earning? interested becos i'm gonna move into that sector soon. thanks.
