In fact many of us serve as eye MO before, and do independent eye MO calls
Fm Mmed is a fm specialist level, cannot be compared to gdfm or mbbs leve
your current place of practice has all of that?
i wonder how private FM can learn all of such things like use of OCT and nerve blocks.

Foreign doc here. From reading the comments here it sounds like in Singapore the Family Physicians are mostly doing comprehensive care office based practice. Often only at one location. They don't have varied practices.

Where I am, Family Physicians often work at more than one location and have varied practices. They may do 2 days a week of comprehensive care for their smaller patient panels and spend their other days doing something else eg Aesthetics, Pain Management, Mental Health, Addictions, Transgender, Women's Health, Men's Health, Palliative Care, Surgical Assist, Anesthesia, Hospitalist, ER and some other more obscure work.

Foreign doc here.

Can someone here explain why the physician's license was suspended for 12 months for a misdiagnosis?

We all make mistakes, granted few end in such significant consequences but regardless we are not infalliable.

Wouldn't it be better to ensure that the physician undergoes refresher courses through mandatory CMEs, rather than a suspension?

Seeing the discussion on a different subforum, seems like most Singaporeans agree with the sentencing or even find it too light, whereas the medical community seem to disagree with the sentencing given how challenging/vague of a diagnosis intermittent testicular torsion is.
