We are discounting any bonus, clinical allowance
And call allowance

The difference between reg and ac
Is higher clinical allowance but base pay increase just by 3k
Hi auntie, base is between 11-13k across different clusters. Allowances $1-2k more. All these excluding bonus and AWS.

Lolz.
Arguing over those 1 to 2k.
About there la.
Gen med ac base can be low in some cluster
As low as 10.x in some hospital but that was few years back.
Derm AC base quite high at 12.x becuase they see a lot of outpatient
Surgical department usually quite rich and pay their AC better
Generally AC all in is 12.x to 14 or 15.x if porcedure based
Annual 180 to 230/240

But some advice here is good
Become specialist is better than GP if u can tank residency.
Wouldn't say FM is bad. I was a neuro reg before I drop out
because of my kids and later on my health reasons
Rested 2 years then gdfm at ops and then m.med.
I don't have a lot of stress with my regular work hours and I'm paid decently.
Patients dont die on me like in r calls.
Don't need to have long family conference etc

Yeah that figure range is about right. I strongly doubt the “300K income earner “ poster is even an AC to begin with, he seems to be a jaded MO…

There’s an increasing trend towards work/life balance since the pandemic. In UK/USA, lifestyle specialities like psych has gotten more competitive.

Just look at the NHS competition ratio 2022, core psychiatry training is even more competitive than core surgical training lol
