the upside potential becoming a specialist is not that big anyway. It's not like surgeons are becoming so rich like last time can own GCB in Nassim.
So go for the lowest easiest route. And be content. Then invest and hope to be the next Peter Lim.
Shouldn't have studied medicine.

Med still quite a fulfilling job la. Can do till old also
No retrenchment. Bring home as boyfriend will get nod of approval
Social standing also higher.
Get into accident go police station pple also trust u more.
It's still quite common for o&g, cardiologist, cancer surgeons, Ortho surgeon to make 1 million a year
Where don't have upside?
That said , they also work v hard la
Ur gp unless open chains cannot earn 1 million one.
Either that or u damn popular and probably have to work urself to the bone
Some specialist that do real consultation work also quite chill
Eg infectious disease, rheumatology , rad onco.
Just dun dumb dumb go do advanced internal med or geriatrics or renal la
They take care of the hospital dumping ground.
Soul burning job.
Polyclinic worse is patient come in wheelchair
And at least they want to come.
Cannot treat I send a&e - complex care needing urgent attention.
Pls admit as not suitable for outpatient disposition.
Lately emergency medicine also seem quite bad
Dun be cheated by the many days off promise
Load v high.
Weekend burnt, holiday burnt
Sleep rhythmn burnt
In Ur 20s body can take it.
30s with a family u cannot liao.
Friend threw in towel after 8 years as specialist.
Turn a&E locum during 8 to 5
Doing gdfm wants to open her own gp clinic.
