All the docs at ops i know are happily married. They dont seem to face marital issues that normal ppl face like divorce

Back to medical thread.
Can I ask if there are skills that I can learn or ways I can build up my CV when working in public for a career in private subsequently after my training and mmed?

Talking about things outside clinical knowledge. (I don't think private pple interested in what sag group you work in, whether you are chief resident or publication etc)

If you can do T&S, tissue glue of wounds, histofreezing, excision of lumps, wedge excision of ingrown toenails, ear syringing, dressing, PAP smears and HVS c/s. These are the practical things that are useful.

All the above are procedures that are useful as a GP
Helps patients for sure.
Makes you look very competent
But for practical reasons GP would NOT want to do
Even at OPS also dont do.
Why?
Time consuming. Plus you think patients willing to pay?
Send to A&E. Thats why they charge $$$.
You spend easily 15 min doing a T&S explain to pt
Prepare. Clesn. Drape. Flush. Siuture. Dressing. Explain.
15 min is damn fast already. Likely 30 min.
You charge how much? Meantime queue in clinic growing
Patient angry why have to wait so long?
Wedge excision of ingrowing toenail? Zadik op?
Wait long long.
Pap is standard. Esp if female dr.
Ear synringing is fun
But you dont charge and make money from these procedires.
No one willing to pay.
They will pay for botox though. Lol!

Tissue glue and histofreezing of viral warts are often done in GP settings though.

I am taking mmed this Nov, if pass will get 200k/year, if fail will leave for gp land also ard 200k/year.
I am single and currently living with my parents. I am turning 35 next year. (Slightly older as I worked overseas for a few years before returning to sg, for family (parents) reasons)

So with 200k/year, would it better to buy condo, or resale HDB? (Have around 200k in CPF, and 100k in cash-savings and equities)
I would advise buying a freehold new or resale condo. Resale hdb are too expensive for a leasehold. There r cheap freehold resale condos, some cheaper than leasehold. Good to leave it for yr kids nexttime.

Sure. And how much do GPs charge?
Look what I am saying is tissue gluing and histofreeze are
Good services for patients
But are more something a GP does as interest and fun
To keep thing fresh less boring
Bur they dont make any big money
Patient dont pay $1000 for gluing or ear syringing or hsitofreeze
Not even $100.
