Hey was wondering if SILE still accept late application for Part A. Had a family emergency that preoccupied me?

When I qualified for NUS law in the late 00s early 2010s, I thought that it was a great achievement.

Now all that me and my wife hope for is to quickly redeem our condo mortgage, upgrade to a landed property, hope our kid doesn't f**k it up and at least qualifies for a university, and retire as soon as we can.

You guys can keep arguing with yourselves over which line of work is more prestigious.
Yet here you are, flexing your NUS law degree and your landed home degree.

I'm the original commenter. There is nothing to flex about bro. We are solidly middle income folks. I've accepted that I will never earn more than my banker or bigtech clients. for my wife and I, our family income is comfortable and that's good enough for us.

Perhaps 10-12 years ago, I would feel insecure that so or so peer/acquaintance from JC working in finance or some other big consulting firm is earning more than me. No longer. Priorities change, goals change. Main aim now is to provide for family and being able to spend quality time with them, not chase the highest paying jobs or high flying roles.

dont recommend doing liti because it leaves you with fewer options (less likely to land an intl firm role for $$ and less likely to get cushy inhouse roles). anyway, oon pays the most iirc. cnp and harry e not good for liti. tkqp depends on the partner but be prepared to suffer either way

No, I fully agree with you. But, when you say that you are looking to upgrade to a landed property, do you mean it as a lofty ambition, or is it happening as we speak? It's a big difference, because a landed home is going to cost at least $5.5M. Unless, you are looking at the fringes of Singapore, or some leasehold landed home, then I have no further comments.

Default Corp teams

General practitioner 3PQE assoc from a small firm looking to join a larger corp firm. Presently a jack of all trades doing a mixture of both contentious and non contentious matters.

Pay isn’t good at where I am and I don’t expect an increment. Current pay is below market rate and probably below NQ in the larger firms. Seeking a change of environment as everything has become stagnant.

1. For career development, which larger-mid to big firm teams should I be looking at?

2. Who are the better partners and their teams to work for?

3. How is Drew corporate, and the work culture? Which drew corp teams are good to join
